"The China-men built the railroad, the Indians saved the Pilgrim
And in return the Pilgrim killed 'em
They call it Thanksgiving, I call your holiday hell-day..." NAS
Some Food for thought.. On some real deal shit, Nas is right on that tip... we celebrate this holiday for all the wrong reasons... most people dont even really know what went down on The first thanksgiving..

IF you dont feel like reading the whole thing...just read this...
In 1637 near present day Groton, Connecticut, over 700 men, women and children of the Pequot Tribe had gathered for their annual Green Corn Festival which is our Thanksgiving celebration. In the predawn hours the sleeping Indians were surrounded by English and Dutch mercenaries who ordered them to come outside. Those who came out were shot or clubbed to death while the terrified women and children who huddled inside the longhouse were burned alive. The next day the governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony declared "A Day Of Thanksgiving" because 700 unarmed men, women and children had been murdered.
Its pretty sick that we celebrate this holiday every year stuffing our faces every year with Turkey [50 million killed for thanksgiving] and other wonderful side dishes with no regard as to why we are celebrating. BUT i guess in all reality I'd be a hipocrate if i got at people for this when im just as guilty too...can u pass the potatoes? sheeshhh.
Nah But on a serious note I am thankful for what i have, the people in my life that are good to me and there for me, thankful for having a roof over my head, and clothes to put on my back, new shoes on my feet, Im thankful and surely dont take for granted my Family.. I had 3 losses this year and im Thankful for the impact u all had on my life while you were on this earth. But sometimes with loss of life comes new life, i got a gorgeous baby niece to be thankful for. To the people ive lost you are gone but your most definitly not forgotten.
Note to Grandma: Sometimes i cant fathom the fact that your gone. That i'll go on vacation and wont get to see your sweet face and your warm presence. I still cant believe i wont get to hug you and hang out with u on the front porch with your nonchalant yet feisty character making us laugh.. You wont be the last one i get to say goodbye to when my vacation is over.. When i look at daddy i could still see the pain in his eyes, but we've accepted the fact that your gone mama and your definitly watching over us, you were like a saint..one of the greatest women ive ever had the pleasure of knowing. Now we have maddy here who looks and acts just like you, so your still here with us, and we still miss you like crazy. LOVE U MAMA.
